Important Safeguarding Notice: Children’s “Spy” Books

We want to make you aware of a recent issue affecting some popular children’s books by Andrew Cope, including the Spy Dogs, Spy Cats, and Spy Pups series.

Some editions of these books include a printed web address at the back. This link used to go to the author’s website, but the domain is no longer under his control. It has since been taken over by another party and now leads to inappropriate adult content.

The publisher, Puffin, has paused sales and distribution of the books and is working with schools, libraries, and retailers to remove copies from circulation. They have stressed that the website has no connection to the author or publisher.

What this means for you:

• If your child has any Spy Dog, Spy Cat or Spy Pups books at home, please check the back for website links and make sure they do not try to visit the site.
• It is safe for children to continue reading the stories themselves — the concern is only with the outdated link.
• We recommend talking with your child about the importance of not following web addresses in books without checking with an adult first.

We will continue to share updates from the publisher as more information becomes available.

Flu Immunisation

If your child missed the recent flu immunisation, you can find the list of clinics available below.

Sickness & Diarrhoea

We are aware of a few cases in school over the past week. We follow HSC Public Health Agency guidance which states children should be kept off school for 48 hours from the last episode of either. If your child does have any sickness & diarrhoea then we ask you to follow these guidelines and contact school as normal to report their absence. If your child is sent home from school then this guidance will also apply.

ParentPay have been alerted to a fraudulent app mimicking the branding. See there message below

Security and safeguarding are top priorities at ParentPay Group, and we took swift action to report the app and are working closely with Apple to have it removed.  Please be aware:  ParentPay does not have an app available for download from any app stores  To use ParentPay, parents should visit https://www.parentpay.com/ from a mobile phone or computer  After logging in, parents can save a shortcut onto their phone’s home screen

Wraparound Care

 The fun Hub will be introducing some shorter 'taster' sessions for after school club.  They will be on a Wednesday and Friday from 10th September.  Each session will start at 3.15pm and end at 4.45pm, with a cost of £7.50. This must be booked through the Class4kids app.  If you have any questions, please drop us an email - enquires@funhubactivities.co.uk or pop in to see Cat at breakfast club each morning.

With Me In Mind

"Introducing our With Me In Mind wellbeing calendar for 2025/26.

It shows the mental health topics we will focus on each month on our social media, and with our wellbeing ambassadors in schools. The calendar also gives key dates for mental health awareness events throughout the year.
