Anti-bullying Week
"This week’s guide empowers trusted adults to help children tackle bullying through allyship, kindness, and speaking up – building a safer, more respectful environment for all. Bullying continues to affect far too many children, both in and out of school – but adults can play a crucial role in helping young people speak up and support one another. This week’s guide is packed with practical strategies to foster confidence, kindness, and connection in the face of unkind behaviour. From encouraging inclusivity to spotting signs of distress, the guide highlights how small, everyday actions by young people and the adults around them can make a big difference. With tips on nurturing empathy, teaching allyship and validating children’s experiences, it’s a timely reminder that empowering young voices is key to positive change."
Please see the guide below.

Christmas @ Ravenfield Primary Academy
Attached are our Christmas events during December. We have plenty for children and families to look forward to. In addition to the list, our Year 3 – Year 6 children have been invited to take part in the Ravenfield Light Switch on 21st November. All families are welcome to attend.
As some of you are aware, we have moved the KS2 performances to Monday 8 December. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. We have been able to add an additional EYFS performance to the list though.
Tickets can be booked below for your child’s year group. If you have children in multiple year groups, could you please use the correct link for each child. As per previous years tickets are restricted to 2 tickets per family per year group performance. If you have any questions, then please contact the office.

Grandparents’ Christmas Performance Invitation
We are delighted to announce a special event taking place —a Christmas performance exclusively for grandparents!
We understand how disappointing it can be when tickets for our main Christmas performances are limited, so we’re thrilled to offer this additional opportunity for grandparents to enjoy a festive celebration.
Event Details:
- Who: Grandparents only
- What: A medley of Christmas songs performed by children from Nursery to Year 6
- When: Friday 12th December - 9am-10am
Due to space restrictions, we can accommodate up to 60 guests. If interest exceeds this number, names will be drawn at random. To help us plan, we will be sending out an expression of interest form shortly—please complete it if you would like a grandparent to attend. We look forward to sharing this joyful occasion with our extended school family!

Parents Evening
Parent's Evening will take place on Wednesday 10th December from 3:30pm-8pm.
The booking system will go live at 8am, Monday 17th November. More information on how to book can be found on Seesaw.

Sickness & Diarrhoea
We are aware of a few cases in school over the past week. We follow HSC Public Health Agency guidance which states children should be kept off school for 48 hours from the last episode of either. If your child does have any sickness & diarrhoea, then we ask you to follow these guidelines and contact school as normal to report their absence. If your child is sent home from school, then this guidance will also apply.

Sports Events
Here is the current list of all sports events for the rest of the year. All children in the appropriate year groups will have an opportunity to sign up for the various events. The selection process will be fair, and we will monitor who has been chosen for which event throughout the year. As always, dates and events are subject to change by the hosts.

Children In Need
Here is what we have planned for Children In Need.
- 21st November - Non uniform day - children and staff are invited to wear something spotty if they have it or come in non uniform. Unfortunately due to other events happening in school on 14th November we are unable to have the non uniform day on that day.
- 21st November - Talent Show - This is for the children only and information will be shared with class teachers regarding this.

Christmas Football Camp
We are excited to announce that we will be running a Christmas Football camp in collaboration between Maltby Learning Trust and Soccer Stars Development! The camp will take place on Monday 22nd December and will run from 9:30am-2:45pm.
We will look to split the day between a mixture of FUTSAL in the sports hall and football on the astroturf (weather permitting!). The camp itself will be £20 for the day. However, a 25% discount will be available for all Maltby Learning Trust pupils!
The camp will be run by Will, who currently works on the Football Scholarship and Primary FUTSAL scholarships ran at Maltby Academy.
Spaces are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
To book onto camp, please contact Will on 07872987996.
