Reading Challenge Winners
Congratulations to last Friday's reading challenge winners. Any child reading 3 or more times a week gets entered into a raffle and the winners get to choose a new book from our vending machine.

Attendance Matters

At our Academy and under the guidance of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, we emphasise the importance of regular school attendance to support your child's educational progress and future prospects. We urge all parents/carers to work collaboratively with the Academy and the Local Authority to ensure the best possible outcomes for their children's education.
Please refer to the following page on our school website

Football Before School
We have noticed that some children are arriving on site very early to play football.
Unfortunately, staff are unable to supervise this, and we have recently had several incidents where children have been injured before the start of the day. To keep everyone safe, we kindly ask that children refrain from playing football before school.
Thank you,
Miss Jepson
- Rotherham United Match Tickets
We have 2 tickets (1 adult, 1 child) for next Saturday's home game against Bolton Wanderers. Raffle tickets will be again £2 a strip with the winner getting picked next Friday.
- Book Fair - Coming soon 17th March

- Reminder: We Are a Nut‑Free School
To help keep all children and staff safe, please remember that our school is strictly nut‑free. Any food items found in lunchboxes that contain nuts will need to be removed.
We also ask parents to be mindful of other items placed in lunchboxes. Please ensure that anything with sharp or potentially unsafe components—such as skewers, cocktail sticks, or similar items—is removed before sending lunches into school.
Thank you very much for your continued support and cooperation.
- September Nursery Places Available
If your child turns 3 years old prior to September and you are looking for a nursery place, get in touch with us now to be added to our waiting list.
We have tour dates available as well as stay and play sessions for children.
We can offer our families a relaxed classroom based learning environment, with teacher led activities and enrichment such as baking, a dedicated outdoor play area, in-school workshops and school trips.
We currently have 15 and 30 hour places available, Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:15pm term time.
If you’d like more information or would like to book onto a tour, please contact us using the form below.
We’d love to welcome you and your child into our setting!

- Sickness & Diarrhoea
We continue to have students ill with the sickness bug. We follow HSC Public Health Agency guidance which states children should be kept off school for 48 hours from the last episode of either. If your child does have any sickness & diarrhoea, then we ask you to follow these guidelines and contact school as normal to report their absence. If your child is sent home from school, then this guidance will also apply.
- PE
Please find the PE timetable for this half-term.

Here is the current list of all sports events for the rest of the year. All children in the appropriate year groups will have an opportunity to sign up for the various events. General News
Encourage Reading - Wake Up Wednesday
"With reading for pleasure in decline, this practical guide offers ten thoughtful ways to reignite children’s enthusiasm for books. From valuing all forms of reading to broadening access to diverse materials, it explores how adults can nurture positive reading habits both at home and in school. Digital tools, audiobooks and augmented reality are also considered as engaging ways to support today’s readers.
It also highlights the power of social connection – recommending books, reading together and meeting authors – alongside the importance of modelling reading ourselves. With expert insight from literacy specialist Carl Pattison, this edition provides supportive, achievable ideas to help young people reconnect with reading and see it as a meaningful part of everyday life."
