Homework

As a parent/carer, you can support your child’s learning by spending a little time helping them with their homework.  This will involve sharing books and completing brief numeracy and literacy activities. It can be completed practically and/or in their homework book.

Homework provides the opportunity for your child to practise and consolidate their skills and knowledge and to develop and extend their techniques and strategies to prepare for their future learning.  The homework set will therefore reflect what your child has been taught within school that week and/or specific skills that your child needs to practise. There will sometimes be activities from other curriculum areas and work shared on ‘Purple Mash.  It can be completed practically and/or in their homework book.We want homework to be a pleasurable experience between Home and School and hope that you will support both your child and us in completing it.

We are aware that many of our children take part in extra-curricular activities outside school hours and we would love to see any certificates, awards, medals, trophies etc. that they have earned.  Please encourage your child to bring them to school where we will share and celebrate them.
