Egyptian day

This week, students took part in 'Egyptian Day', where we lived the day in the life of an Ancient Egyptian!

The children all came dressed up and our day was filled with Ancient Egyptian activities to help us learn what life was like.

The day started with a personalised video message from Egyptian Aston Villa player 'Elmo' (Ahmed Elmohanady), wishing the children a fun day and even giving us an Egyptian phrase to learn.

Children then took part in a virtual workshop from the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford where the children were shown lots of artefacts and made an Ancient Egyptian game from clay.

Then, children worked with  a dance teacher to retell the story of an Egyptian Pharaoh, through dance.

Our children created some lovely Egyptian art, including making a collar and a cartouche with their names written in hieroglyphics.

The end the day, children were given the opportunity to try a variety of different foods eaten in Egypt.
